Project 1a : Urban Study on Place Making
The site context is the area covering Medan Pasar In Kula Lumpur City Centre. The Project 1a was focusing on theoretical analysis and urban responses of Medan Pasar.
Outcome:
1. To understand the formation of cities and introduce basic concepts of urban design about the architectural design
2. To introduce and implement primary methodologies of urban studies
3. To investigate the role of multi-user typologies in traditional and contemporary urban societies
4. To examine various examples and architectural responses for urban blocks
Project 1b: Architectural Design Strategy and Project
Design a Art Community Centre for the Creative City within an urban block site. The design of the building is to consist of appropriate architectural responses that address the aspects of the urban street context and user behavioral patterns as discerned and analyzed in the Preliminary Studies.
Outcome:
1. To establish Community Centre as a possibility in the context
2. To explore needs analysis for programmatic requirements and spatial layout of the design scheme
3. To explore formal and structural design idea/strategy
4. To explore urban theories from Project 1a towards design strategies
Project 1c: Architecture for Place-making
Develop an architectural narration for place making in the city and to perform an integrated design. Architectural design strategy should be further resolved by design through form, activity and circulation and technical and services integration through concepts and components.
Outcome:
1. To develop and finalize structural, spatial and formal design
2. To explore, develop and incorporate design and details of façade, tropical resolutions, construction technologies and services.
